About the Ash Youth Center
The Glen Ash Youth Center resulted from the generosity of former residents Glen and Virginia Ash and is dedicated to the youth of Independence. The center is publicly supported with operating expenses divided among the City of Independence, Unified School District 446 and the Independence-USD 446 Recreation Commission.
Ash Center Memberships
A membership is required to use the Ash Center. Funds generated through memberships are used to offset operating expenses. Memberships are granted on an annual basis running from October 1st through September 30th. Your membership entitles you to the use of the building during normal operational hours. This includes the use of the youth center area, gymnasium, and Ash pool. Members holding a Family Membership will also receive a 25% discount on building rentals and youth team registration fees. A membership is not required to participate in an enrolled IRC activity held in the building. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult while using the center.
Upon membership approval, members will be issued a membership card. You will be required to present this card to supervisors upon request and when checking out games. If you lose the card, a replacement is available for $3.00.
