Ash Youth Center and IRC Offices

The Glen Ash Youth Center was opened in July of 1994 as a result of the generosity of former residents Glen and Virginia Ash
and is dedicated to the youth of Independence. The Center is publicly supported with operating expenses divided among the
City of Independence, Unified School District 446 and the Independence Recreation Commission.

Ash Center Memberships

A membership is required to use the Ash Center. Funds generated through memberships are used to offset
operating expenses. Memberships are good for a full year upon purchase. Your membership entitles you to the
use of the building during normal operational hours. This includes the use of the youth center area, gymnasium,
and Ash Center Pool (restrictions apply). Members holding a Family Membership will also receive a 25% discount
on sports registration fees.* A membership is not required to participate in an enrolled IRC activity held in the
building. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult while using the center.

*This is not applicable to programs that require paid instructors (swim lessons, tennis, clinics).
